Google Maps can be used without additional
software on your computer.

Read the Google Maps help.

Experiment with the zoom tools.

Placemarks contain sights of interest and other information.
Click on placemarks to show information about them. Some will have
links to external websites. Note that the linked websites
will overwrite the Google Maps page, use your browser 'Back' link
to return to the Google Maps page.

When browsing the visitor itineraries, the desert
stops contain more information on likely activiities.

Use the map controls to move around the display.

Toggle between Map, Satellite and Hybrid buttons.

Note that the Search nearby link is a Google
Maps feature. Using this feature opens a new window in the Google
Maps window, press Back in the browser window to return to the
application. The 'search nearby' feature may not be useful for many
desert placemarks.
