Australian desert tracks
This page contains
links to a number of desert tracks which can be opened in Google
Earth or Google Maps. Selected features have been added for some
routes, mainly based on Geoscience Australia data, a range of maps,
the Google Earth community and files supplied by HEMA Maps. The
Google Earth community sites contain user contributed information
on some areas, particularly the Canning Stock Route. Follow the
links from http://earth.google.com/.
The routes can be
viewed in Google Maps using an interactive map
interface with satellite imagery. No software is required. View the
help.
Google Earth is fully interactive with flyover
tours using satellite imagery, but requires software to be loaded
on your machine & good bandwidth. All the routes contain a
driving tour along the road. View the help.
